· Art
Working with the Camp art teacher, campers will create simple art projects using various mediums. Guided, they will be able to express their creativeness and imagination.
· Chocolate Making
Melt delicious chocolate wafers and pour into molds or stir in special ingredients to make delicious candy treats to take home.
· Cooking without a Stove
Not all meals need a stove to be delicious! Campers will learn how to prepare simple dishes that do no require cooking but will be tasty and easy enough for them to do themselves.
· Create-a-Plane
Various styles of balsa wood airplanes will be constructed, and campers will have the opportunity to fly them and experience the thrill of flight.
· Critters & Stuff
Pick an adorable soft and furry animal body and stuff it full of fluff and place a little red heart in his chest and dress him in a little tee-shirt of his own. Campers will even get a birth certificate for their newfound friend. Available in two sizes!
· Expresso Yourself Ceramics
This mobile arts studio comes onsite to help campers paint and decorate their very own piece of green ware. Projects will be fired offsite in the studio’s kiln and returned to Camp Jefferson for pick-up.
· Expresso Yourself Fusion Jewelry
This mobile art studio comes onsite to help campers paint and decorate pieces of glass and layer them into a piece of jewelry. Projects will be fired offsite in the studio’s kiln and returned to Camp Jefferson for pick-up.
· Fitness is Fun
This class will teach easy exercises to help keep young bodies in good shape while having fun.
· Glitz & Glamour
A favorite among the female campers, counselors will style their hair, polish their nails, and maybe even add a little lipstick to complete the look.
· Guitar Lessons
Learn the basics of the guitar taught by one of the musically inclined counselors. Students will learn notes, the scale, perhaps a simple song, and the fundamentals of guitar playing. Offered twice a week.
· Gymnastics
Campers will tumble and learn simple gymnastic moves working on thick floor pads and specialty tumbling mats.
· Hip Hop Dancing
Move and groove to express one's creativeness while exercising with body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip hop music. Can improve flexibility, develop body balance, and coordinate muscles while having fun.
· Hot Wheels
Enjoy building race tracks together and then competing in exciting car races. Each camper will take home a Hot Wheels or a MatchBox car.
· Icing on the “Cake”, etc.
Come to the Camp Jefferson Bakery and learn how to decorate cakes, cookies, brownies, and pies with various types of icings, fondant, chocolate, sprinkles, sugars, nonpareils, shapes, and other creative items.
· Just Desserts
Campers will learn how to create simple and delicious dessert dishes in the camp kitchen that they can recreate at home .
· Lego Club
Campers will be challenged to work individually or in groups to use their imagination and create awesome structures using Lego blocks. Each child will take home a small Lego kit to work on at home.
· Martial Arts
Simple self-defense moves will be taught in this class with the objective of learning basic skills.
· Muffin Pan Meals
Muffin pans aren’t just for muffins and cupcakes anymore! Learn to prepare delicious personal sized meals using biscuit dough as the base.
· Ooey, Gooey & Oh So Chewy
Campers will learn to create ooey and gooey bars, breads, cupcakes, and cookies using ingredients such as chocolate, caramel, and marshmallows.
· Piano Lessons
Campers can learn the basics of the keyboard taught by one of the Camp’s musically inclined counselors. Students will learn notes, the scale, perhaps a simple song and the fundamentals of playing the keyboard. Offered twice a week.
· Specialty Arts & Crafts
The camp art teacher will work with the campers on more advanced arts and crafts projects using different materials in different mediums. For campers in 3rd grade and up.
· Taste of Italy
Learn to prepare various Italian-inspired dishes that bring people together through delicious food.
· Tie Dying
Using rubber bands and various colors of material dyes, campers will each create their own unique tee-shirt.
