Detective Bureau


The Detective Bureau coordinates and conducts most major and follow-up investigations. Other responsibilities include evidence collection & storage, the issuing of firearms permits & firearms ID cards, juvenile offender matters and drug investigations. 

As always we encourage our residents to assist us in reporting crimes or to serve as our eyes and ears to provide us with information to help solve crimes. We always welcome your support in this area. If you have information concerning a possible crime or you have been a victim of a crime and have a concern about an ongoing investigation, feel free to contact anyone of our detectives.   

The Detective Bureau currently has three Detectives assigned.

The Detective Bureau no longers provides employment fingerprinting service, please go to www.njsp.org for fingerprinting information.

All fingerprinting is now conducted by Morpho Trak, except Federal Fingerprint Cards. To make an appointment, www.bioapplicant.com/nj


Firearms applications are processed on Tuesday evenings (except holidays) from 6pm to 9pm. No appointment is needed. All other times please call for an appointment.
