Property tax deductions exist for
Veteran’s and their surviving spouse, who served during time of conflict,
Senior Citizens age 65 and their surviving spouse and 100% Disabled persons.
The amounts of the deductions vary per deduction and other requirements must be
met prior to approval. The deduction is subtracted directly from your yearly
tax bill on a quarterly basis. These deductions are filed with the Tax
Collector or Assessor and are approved and administered locally according to NJ
State Statute. If you are a Veteran who is 100% permanently disabled due to an
injury sustained during combat, you may be eligible for a complete exemption
from property tax on your primary residence. This application is also filed and
