Services Bureau
The Jefferson Twp. Police Department formed it Services Bureau in
1987. It began with a focus on crime watch and school programs. Today, because
of the popularity and demand by the community for programming, the bureau has
expanded from one to four officers incorporating Traffic Safety, School
Resource and Community Services/Crime Prevention. See our links below.
Its Child ID/Fingerprinting program was introduced
in 1989 and is still today one of the most requested programs. In 1990, the
department introduced the DARE program to the schools
and to date has trained over 4000 students. Most recently the Jefferson Twp.
Police Department was the first department in the State to offer the DNA/Life Print Program to our school
age children.
The Services Bureau officers are available for a
wide variety of presentation topics & programs at all levels including
personal/stranger safety, traffic/ bicycle safety, seat belt/car seat safety,
alcohol & drug abuse and crime prevention. All four of its officers also
supplement the patrol bureau?s bicycle patrol unit. The Services Bureau also administers our Vial
for Life Program .
The Services Bureau also serves as the outlet for
public information for the community. Capt. Eric Wilsusen serves as the public
information officer for the department.
Recently, the department created an E-Mail
Notification Service to notify our residents of important news and
information. Be sure to visit our link to register.
Additionally the Services Bureau coordinates our
vacant/dark home program,
special needs program and is responsible for community & business
relations. Forms to register for these and other programs can be obtained in
our Forms
center.
For further
information concerning these and other programs you may contact anyone of the
listed officers. Currently Sgt. Paul Castimore supervises the Services/Records
Bureau. Sgt. Castimore can be contacted at 973-208-6147 or at pcastimore@jeffersonpolice.com
