Functions:

The Tax Collector is responsible for the collection of real estate taxes,
collection of assessment for local improvements, official searches for
municipal liens, and collection of other municipal charges.

 

Changes the Tax Collector's Office must be notified of

 

 

Payment:

Taxes are payable quarterly on the first day of February, May, August, and November.
There is a 10-day grace period. After the grace period, taxes are delinquent and subject to interest back to the first day of that quarter.

How do I make a payment?



Interest:

Any taxes remaining unpaid after the 10th of February, May, August, and November are
subject to interest from the first of each quarterly date.  Interest rate charged is 8% on first
$1,500 of delinquency and 18% over $1,500 of delinquent tax.  Rate of 18%

remains until account is brought current, even if balance falls below $1,500.

Property Tax Deductions:

Veterans and their surviving spouse, seniors age 65 or older, their
surviving spouse and 100% disabled persons, may qualify. Please contact

Attention:

Qualified Senior Citizens, Disabled Persons, or Surviving Spouse - The
Annual Post-Tax Year Income Statement for income for the year 2004,
Must be returned to the tax collector’s office no later than March 1, 2005.
