INSTRUCTIONAL TENNIS
Learn to play Tennis this summer!
This summer, the Jefferson Township Recreation Department in association with the US Sports Institute will be offering Tennis Clinics for children 6 to 14 years of age at the tennis courts at Chamberlain Field (off Berkshire Valley Road in the Waters Edge development) in Milton/Oak Ridge beginning on Monday, July 19th through Friday, July 23rd. The session for 6 to 9 year olds will be held from 9 AM to 10:30 AM and 10 to 14 year olds will take the court from 10:30 AM to noon each day.
Following US Tennis Association (USTA) curriculums, the USSI tennis clinic is a fast and easy way to develop an individual’s skills; and it will include the highly appraised Quickstart Tennis format. The program will offer a wide variety of drills and games suited to the ability level and age of every person who attends. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals in stroke production, court movement, and footwork skills all in a low-pressured environment including skills in forehand, bckhand, serve, volley, rallying, and spin. Participants must provide their own racket.
The cost of the program is $119 per person; and registration forms will be distributed to township day care centers, nursery schools, and students in the Jefferson Township school district. However, you can call the US Sports Institute Information Line directly at 866-345-BALL or visit their website at www.UssportsInstitute.com now for more information about their program. Registrations are handled directly through the Institute either by mail, telephone, or online. The Jefferson Township Recreation Department would be happy to mail you a registration form by calling 973-663-8404.
