PERMIT FEE OVERVIEW

 

ADDITION:    Fees are computed based on the cubic volume of the addition. Cubic volume x .035, DCA surcharge of cubic volume s.0016.  See electric, plumbing and fire fees for more information.

 

DECKS:        Based on cost of construction. $20 per $1000 of proposed work. Minimum fee is $50. Proposed work cost should include cost of labor and materials, as if a contractor were hired to perform the work.

ELECTRIC

SERVICE:    $46+ for up to 200 amp service.

 

FINISHED    

BASEMENT:            Based on cost of construction. $20 per $1000 of proposed work. Minimum fee is $50. Proposed work cost should include cost of labor and materials, as if a contractor were hired to perform the work

 

GARAGE:     Fee is based on cubic volume x .035. Electric is a minimum of $46.

 

NEW HOME: Cubic volume x .035, DCA surcharge, plumbing, fire and electric fees (see below). Driveway permit is $50. Grading permit is $200 for the first 7000 square feet of disturbance and an additional $50 for each additional 7000 sq. ft. of disturbance.

 

POOLS:         Above ground: $75., Inground: $125. Electrical: $71+.

Plumbing: $40+  (plumbing permit required for pool heater)      

 

ROOF/SIDING: Flat fee of $35 + DCA surcharge for roofing or siding, as long as no structural work is being performed.
 

SHED:           Fee is based on cubic volume x .035. Minimum fee is $50.

 

TANKS:         $50 flat fee for demo of a tank on a residential permit.

Fees for installation of a tank vary depending on how the permit is filed. If the install and demo are on the same permit, with the same contractor, a mechanical permit (residential use only) will include both at $50+. Otherwise, an install is a minimum of $40.  Filing plumbing/fire/building permits incurs a minimum of $40 each. Mechanical permits are advisable for residential tank projects. Inspections are also easier to schedule as only one inspector is needed as opposed to three.

 

DCA Surcharge fees are computed as follows: 

New home/addition:  cubic volume x .00265 

Alteration/Miscellaneous: cost of work x .0135

 

Electrical fees: $46 for the first 50 receptacles/outlets, fixtures, switches, detectors, etc. $15 for each additional 25. (ex. 1-50 = $46; 51-75 = $61; 76-100 = $76;  101-125 = $91, etc.) $46 for service up to 200 amp. $25 minimum fee for appliances (ex. Washing machine, stove, etc.)

 

Plumbing fees: $40 for the first fixture, $10 for each additional fixture.

Fire fees:      $50. minimum fee. Fireplace (new home/addition) an additional $50.
