Learn to play Tennis this Spring!
This spring, the Jefferson Township Recreation Department in association with the US Sports Institute will be offering Tennis Clinics for pre-schoolers through adults at the tennis courts at Chamberlain Field (off Berkshire Valley Road in the Waters Edge development) in Milton/Oak Ridge beginning on Thursday, April 15.
Following US Tennis Association (USTA) curriculums, the USSI tennis clinic is a fast and easy way to develop an individual’s skills; and it will include the highly appraised Quickstart Tennis format. The program will offer a wide variety of drills and games suited to the ability level and age of every person who attends. Participants will learn the basic fundamentals -- forehand, serve, rallying, backhand, volley, and spin -- in stroke production, court movement and footwork skills, all in a low-pressured environment. All sessions will run for an 8-week period, and USSI will schedule make-up classes after the last scheduled session. Participants must provide their own racket, but USSI will provide rackets in the 3 to 5 year old session.
Program times are as follows:
Ages 3 to 5 3:30 pm to 4:15 pm
Ages 5 to 8 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Ages 8 to 10 5:45 pm to 6:45 pm
Ages 10 to 14 5:45 pm to 6:45 pm
14 years old thru Adult 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
The cost of the program is $120 per person; and registration forms will be distributed to township day care centers, nursery schools, and students in the Jefferson Township school district.
