The Utilities Department is divided into two units:

Water Department

The Water Department services approximately 4,000 customers in the Oak Ridge, Lake Hopatcong and Vassar Road areas. Water comes from several wells located throughout the township. The water system operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All water systems are operated under guidelines established by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Sewer Department

The Sewer Department services approximately. 900 customers in the Oak Ridge section of the township. There are two waste water treatment plants. The Moosepac Wastewater Treatment Plant and the White Rock WWTP. Both plants run 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Having trouble paying your water/sewer bill?

 The Low-Income Household Water Assistant Program(LIHWAP) is available to eligible individual households that pay for their own water and sewer and meet low-income requirements. The LIHWAP program is not available for business accounts, estates, or property management companies.

Family Promise Utility Assistance

There are Home Energy Assistance Programs available for  New Jersey residents that offer financial help with electric, gas, oil, water and sewer bills. The current application period ends on June 30th, it will open again in October.
