Property Tax Deductions/Exemptions

Property tax deductions exist for Veterans and their surviving spouses, who served during time of conflict, Senior Citizens age 65 and their surviving spouses and 100% Disabled persons. The amounts of the deductions vary per deduction and other requirements must be met prior to approval. The deduction is subtracted directly from your yearly tax bill on a quarterly basis. These deductions are filed with the Tax Collector or Assessor and are approved and administered locally according to New Jersey State Statute. If you are a Veteran who is 100% permanently disabled due to an injury sustained during combat, you may be eligible for a complete exemption from property tax on your primary residence.
