AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA)
The Americans with Disabilities Act passed in 1990 excludes discrimination against employment opportunities and services provided. Reasonable accommodations (without creating hardship or directly threaten work place safety) are to be made when an applicant or employee is qualified and interested in a position. Transportation, publicly accessible facilities, state and local government programs and services, and employment are some of the things affected and covered under the ADA.
