The Jefferson Township Museum (The George Chamberlain House) is closed for the winter for cleaning and repairs. Visitors will once again be welcome in the Museum and grounds in spring, 2021. The Museum will be open the first Sunday of each month from 1-4PM starting April 11, 2021. The Museum interior decoration is an interpretation of the life of George and Elizabeth Speaker Chamberlain in the mid 1800’s. The parlor has an antique Harmonium as part of its décor. The dining room showcases fine dining of the period along with one of the areas few working dumb waiters. Three rooms upstairs feature a master bedroom, a sewing room and a children’s room filled with antique toys. In the original kitchen of the home is Miss Elizabeth’s Shoppe. Lovely gift items are displayed on kitchen equipment of the era such as a Hoosier cabinet and 1920’s stove. The Museum is located at 315 Dover-Milton Road in the historic Milton Village of the Township of Jefferson.
