Township COVID-19 Update 1-5-21

Here is the latest COVID 19 report, 93 new cases to report since December 29. Sadly we have two new deaths to report. This is the largest increase in cases since we began tracking cases.

Jefferson Township today confirmed its twelfth and thirteenth COVID-19 related fatalities. One decedent was a 77-year-old male suffering a preexisting chronic condition. The second decedent was a 74-year-old male suffering multiple preexisting conditions. Any close contacts have been identified and notified and are quarantining per State protocol.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the decedents.

As of 7:00pm on January 5, there have been 975 confirmed cases of COVID-19, and 13 COVID-19-related deaths in Jefferson Township. Active cases are recovering and receiving treatment as necessary. Negative test results have been reported for 2,502 individuals.

If you are a resident and have tested positive for COVID-19, but have not been contacted by a Jefferson Township Public Health Nurse, please call the Township Health Center at 973-663-0700.

As always, please continue to follow all guidelines and protocols, continue to wear a face-covering in public & private areas, especially when you cannot physically distance, wash hands frequently, disinfect hard surfaces, and of course, social/physical distance by 6 feet and STAY CONNECTED!

Please make sure neighbors are checking on neighbors, especially the elderly.

Please continue to be diligent, Jefferson!
