Vegetative Waste collection will resume on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 and will continue until December 9, 2020 (weather permitting). Jefferson Township residents may begin to place vegetative waste curbside. For the first six (6) weeks of the season, our contractor will pick up an unlimited amount of vegetative waste debris (leaves, grass, twigs, etc.) curbside from our residents. Large tree branches and loose tree branches are not picked up curbside. In order to be picked up curbside, branches need to be tied on both ends in bundles no longer than 3-feet. Unlimited vegetative pick up will run through Wednesday, 5/13/20. After May 13, only two (2) bags or cans (lids off) will be picked up curbside. When there is a holiday, i.e. Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day there is no vegetative waste pick up. Please place vegetative material in brown lawn and leaf bags, which can be purchased at local grocery stores, hardware stores or any of the big box stores, or you can place materials in a standard size (32 gallon) trash container with the lid off so that the hauler can see it is vegetative waste. Do not place leaves or grass in plastic bags; they will not be picked up. Landscaper barrels (big, oversized barrels) will not be emptied by the hauler. Vegetative Waste will be picked up on Wednesdays only. Please note that brush (branches and twigs) may also be brought up to our Recycling Center. We do not accept grass clippings or leaves at the Recycling Center.
